Course: U.S. History

Course Description
This is a survey course of American history from 1800-1900.



Course:  Introduction to Technology

Course Description 
This is a survey course of computer basics in which students will identify computer components and their functions. The course includes introduction to and use of Microsoft Office programs, Work, Paint, Excel and Access, as well as keyboarding practice.



Course: World Geography and Cultures

 

Course Description & Goals
"The seventh grade program of study includes the five themes of world geographic location, place, movement, human/environment interaction, and regions. The purpose of this program is to present a picture of a crowded world, a physical world more threatened, and global regions more competitive and interconnected, than previously existed. This study will be accomplished through the analysis of the physical and human characteristics of world regions”, with one quarter devoted to Kansas History, as per state requirement.

Course: 7th and 8th Grade Literacy
The middle school literacy courses include reading and writing.

Course Description 

The purpose of this course is to give students daily opportunities to improve their reading and writing skills. Based on the Kansas Curricular Standards for Reading and Writing for 7th and 8th grade, students improve skills by reading a variety of materials for different purposes at a level appropriate for each student. Students acquire skills needed to read and respond to literature from many cultures, genres and time periods. Students will create a portfolio of various types of writing.
