Eligibility
Background
KSD is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association
(KSHSAA) which establishes rules and guidelines for athletic participation.
KSD is also a member of the Great Plains School for the Deaf Conferrence
which offers round robin or tournament competition in the activities
listed below. Member schools include Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri,
and Kansas. North Dakota, South Dakota, and Oklahoma are non-hosting
participants.
Athletics begin at 3:05 p.m. Athletes who participate in sports are expected to maintain good sportsmanship on the field and in the classroom. All cheerleaders and athletes must have passed a physical examination and have written permission from their parents or legal guardian.
Eligibility
To remain eligible for athletic or other sanctioned competitions, a student must pass at least seven new subjects in the last semester,
must be enrolled in at least five new subjects from the coming semester, and be a bona-fide student in good standing in school.
Additionally, a student must be in attendance for five periods of the school day to be eligible for competition on that day. Additional KSHSAA eligibility rules
