Audiological services are available to students at KSD. The services include the following:
State Auditory Training Equipment Lease Program:
Auditory training equipment may be obtained for use in the local district. Normal repair is covered under the terms of the lease and backup equipment is available to minimize down time. Supplies such as cords, transducers, etc. are also kept on hand and available at cost. For districts leasing ATU equipment, KSD's audiologist is available to provide inservice training and/or consultation to those programs that do not have audiological services locally. [These services entail a fee.]

What can you do with old hearing aids?
Hearing aid donations, regardless of type, or condition can be made to the Kansas School for the Deaf Audiology Department.
- Comprehensive audiological evaluation.
- Hearing aid evaluation including electro-acoustic evaluation of the hearing aid, functional and real ear gain measurements.
- Hearing aid supplies, such as batteries, tubing, etc. may be obtained from the Audiology department.
- Ear molds and hearing aid repair may be arranged through the Audiology department. Performance of the aid is evaluated after repair to insure proper operation.

Some donated hearing aids are used by students, and others are sent in for recycling. Anyone who would like to donate hearing aids to KSD may send them to:

If you will include your name and address with the hearing aids, a letter of receipt will be mailed to you for income tax purposes.
